Continued Improvements in Domestic Industrial Heating Equipment Sales
Total domestic and foreign orders for industrial heating equipment, as reported by 16 members of the Industrial Heating Equipment Association (IHEA), for the second quarter of 2005, were $67.38 million. Comparing orders received and reported by the same companies for both years, there was an increase of 16.3% from the second quarter of 2004.
North American orders for all industrial heating equipment for the second quarter of 2005 were reported at $53.4 million. For companies that reported in both years, there was an increase of 6.6% from orders reported in the same quarter of 2004. Foreign orders for the second quarter were $13.9 million. The comparison of same company reports for foreign orders showed an increase of 180.0% from the second quarter of 2004.
Domestic industrial furnace and oven orders only for the second quarter of 2005 totaled $20.4 million. Using the comparison of companies that reported for the second quarter of both years, the North American oven and furnace sales were reported as up 17.0% from the same quarter in 2004. Other domestic equipment orders, including process control systems, industrial combustion equipment, replacement parts and other types of equipment totaled $32.9 million for the second quarter of 2005. This comparison showed a 9.8% increase for the same reporting companies from the second quarter of 2004.
