Total domestic and foreign orders for industrial heating equipment, as reported by 16 members of the Industrial Heating Equipment Association (IHEA), for the second quarter of 2005, were $67.38 million. Comparing orders received and reported by the same companies for both years, there was an increase of 16.3% from the second quarter of 2004. North American orders for all industrial heating equipment for the second quarter of 2005 were reported at $53.4 million. For companies that reported in both years, there was an increase of 6.6% from orders reported in the same quarter of 2004. Foreign orders for the second quarter were $13.9 million. The comparison of same company reports for foreign orders showed an increase of 180.0% from the second quarter of 2004. Domestic industrial furnace and oven orders only for the second quarter of 2005 totaled $20.4 million. Using the comparison of companies that reported for the second quarter of both years, the North American oven and furnace sales were reported as up 17.0% from the same quarter in 2004. Other domestic equipment orders, including process control systems, industrial combustion equipment, replacement parts and other types of equipment totaled $32.9 million for the second quarter of 2005.
