Macsteel Service Centers USA Inc. acquired the business and assets of PHA Steel, LLC, operating under the brand name Alpha Steel, a privately owned steel service center in Hammond, Ind.

Macsteel Service Centers USA Inc. (Newport Beach, Calif.; http://www.macsteelusa.com) acquired the business and assets of PHA Steel, LLC, operating under the brand name Alpha Steel, a privately owned steel service center in Hammond, Ind. Terms of the purchase were not disclosed. Alpha Steel will operate under its existing name as part of Macsteel Service Centers USA Midwest Division. Alpha Steel, a distributor of hot rolled and structural steel products, processes and distributes a broad inventory of structural steel beams, shapes, plate, sheet, tubing and pipe products to a customer base of steel fabricators and OEMs. Alpha also operates a complete in-house processing center for hot rolled steel products. The management team of Alpha Steel will remain with the company.
