Generac Corporation, Waukesha, WI, has installed a thermal oxidizer from CORECOR (College Research Corporation), Germantown, WI, that destroys V.O.C.'s released during the curing of electrical generator windings at a rate of up to 2000 cfm of process emissions. Interlocked with the plant ventilation system and designed to exceed current Wisconsin and Federal air emissions standards, the oxidizer destroys 99.9% of all V.O.C.'s. Plant emissions are preheated by the flue gases via an in-stack heat exchanger, minimizing energy requirements and reducing the total emissions from the oxidizer.
