The MAXStrain multi-axis physical simulation system is designed for ultra-fine grain material studies in steel, aluminum, and titanium alloys and is capable of producing strain as high as 15 percent and beyond. To do so, it restrains up to a 25 mm square x 185 mm long specimen lengthwise while allowing unlimited deformation in the other two dimensions. The system allows trials involving many different parameters under well-controlled thermal and mechanical conditions. The resultant sample material is large enough to be subjected to other properties tests after processing.
