The ACS 1000 medium voltage drive provides precise speed and torque control in a 2,500 - 6,500 horsepower range, in voltages of 2.3, 3.3, and 4.16 kV. Built with IGCT (integrated gate commutated thyristor) power switching modules on a swing-out inverter stack, the drive requires fewer parts, resulting in higher reliability and a smaller footprint for easy retrofit. The IGCT technology, combined with a sine filter, creates a clean sinusoidal (motor friendly) output voltage waveform to the motor, with less than one percent total harmonic distortion. The drive requires no motor derating, creates no voltage stress or common mode voltages.
