Eclipse Inc., Rockford, IL, has installed a product development test furnace to be used with different fuels (natural gas, propane, butane, producer gases and light and heavy oil) and either air or oxygen. Maximum operating temperature is 2500¯F (1371¯C). The furnace was created as part of the HELN burner project with major funding provided by Eclipse, IGT, and DOE. The furnace will be used to test concept burners for NOx reduction, conduct efficiency trials, and develop new burners.
