Kvaerner and VAII Begin Efforts on Coatings Project
Kvaerner, Pittsburgh, PA, and Voest-Alpine Industries Inc. (VAII) have formed a joint venture for a construction project for the Columbus Coatings project, a joint venture of LTV Steel and Bethlehem Steel, for the conversion of an existing electrogalvanizing facility in Columbus, OH to a hot dip coating line (HDCL). Kvaerner serves as the contractor for the project. VAII will provide process engineering expertise, vendor project management, and design and supply of mechanical equipment and automation systems.
