Can-Eng Furnaces Ltd., Global Furnace Systems Group (Niagara Falls, N.Y.: http://www.can-eng.com) shipped a bar heat treatment system to ISTIL (International Steel and Tube Industries Ltd.), Donetsk, Ukraine. The furnace system has a production capacity of 120,000 metric ton/year and will be used to quench and temper carbon and alloy steels and martensitic stainless steels; solution treat austenitic stainless steels and normalize carbon and alloy steels. Bar sizes range from 150 to 275 mm OD by 6 m long (approx. 6 in. by 19.5 ft). Normal rated capacity is 14.1 metric tons/hour. The furnace line incorporates Can-Eng's Level II automation Process Enhancement Technology (PET™) and high efficiency regenerative burners. Production start up is planned for October 2005.
