Saint-Gobain Changes Name

Effective August 1, 2000, Saint-Gobain Industrial Ceramics changed its name to Saint-Gobain Ceramics & Plastics, Inc. Each major worldwide business within the organization was renamed to identify with the new name. The industrial ceramics portion of Norton Company and the former Carborundum Company are now part of Saint-Gobain Ceramics & Plastics, Inc., Industrial Ceramics division, and have been reorganized into three global units: Ceramic Systems, Energy Systems, and Metallurgy Solutions. The corporation will continue to use "Norton" and "Carborundum" as trade names.
