Almatis, a leader in full-line, high-performance specialty alumina products (http://www.almatis.com), expanded its Asian sales organization by opening new sales offices in Shanghai and Kaifeng, Hennan Province. Xiaomin Xu will lead the Shanghai office, and Chen Hao will lead the Kaifeng office. Both new offices are part of the Qingdao Almatis Co. Ltd., Qingdao. According to the company, the decision to expand was made due to the high demand for high-quality specialty aluminas in Southeast Asia and in China, as well as calls for close and integrated customer and support services. The expansion of the sales forces also is aligned with the expansion plan of the existing tabular alumina facility at Huangdao in the Shangdong province of China.
