SECO/WARWICK Corp. (Meadville, Pa.; http://www.secowarwick.com) received an order from Alcoa for a new Age Oven to process 230,000 lb (104,326 kg) loads of aluminum plate products at its Davenport, Iowa facility. The furnace produces tight uniformity by utilizing reversing airflow to eliminate the formation of "hot side" and a "cold side" on the load. The electric heating system for the furnace is divided into six equal zones of PID temperature control, and each zone will incorporate SECO/WARWICK bayonet resistance heating electric elements. This new order will be the second SECO/WARWICK aging furnace in the Davenport plant.
