ASTM International (West Conshohocken, Pa.), in collaboration with CASTI Publishing, released its new Passport to Steel, an online steel database that provides comprehensive steel standards data. Users can search by standards or fields, and the results of each search can be sorted and selected according to user preferences. Results can be copied into programs such as Microsoft Excel® to save information electronically. The database also includes access to a reference center, which includes selected standards, journal articles, related book chapters, hardness conversion tables, the Periodic Table and a list of metal terms in English, Spanish, German and French.
