Hertwich Engineering GmbH in Austria successfully commissioned a new batch type billet homogenizing plant for heat treatment of aluminum alloys for the automotive and aircraft industry at Aluminiumwerk Unna AG in Germany. The furnace operates with lean energy consumption, and accurate temperature control is achieved for both log and air temperatures. Hertwich Engineering GmbH forms part of the Tube, Long Product and Forging Technology Business Area of the SMS Group.
