Furnace Donated to University Program

Solar Atmospheres, Inc., Souderton, PA, has donated a vacuum furnace to the LeTourneau University Division of Engineering and Engineering Technology, Longview, TX. The furnace will be used in the welding engineering and materials joining program, and it heats to temperatures of up to 3,000 degrees in a vacuum of 1x10-5 Torr. The system includes a VFS vacuum chamber, Hunterdon power supply, an integrated water cooling system, Honeywell digital controller and recorder, as well as exotic alloy baskets and racks for use in the furnace.
