The American Foundrymen's Society (AFS), Des Plaines, IL, has changed the name of its organization to American Foundry Society (AFS). The name change was unanimously approved by the AFS Board of Directors at the 104th AFS Casting Congress in Pittsburgh, PA. The change went into effect on July 1, 2000. The organization was named American Foundrymen's Society since 1948. Prior to then, it was named American Foundrymen's Association.
