American Brazing (Willoughby, Ohio; http://www.americanbrazing.com), a division of Paulo Products Co., added two new vacuum furnaces and a large continuous hump furnace to its list of equipment. The furnaces, manufactured by GM Enterprises, are horizontal load with a work zone of 42 °- 42 °- 60 in. (1,066 °- 1,066 °- 1,524 mm) and a gross load capacity of 8,000 lb. (~3,640 kg). One furnace (10 bar argon) has a 600 hp quench fan motor with variable speed drive, a 14,000 Btu heat exchanger and an all Moly hot zone. The second furnace (2 bar argon) has a 200 hp quench fan motor with variable speed drive and an all Moly hot zone. The furnaces will be used to process high-alloy parts such as those used in power generation and aerospace applications. The continuous hydrogen hump furnace, supplied by Abbott Furnace Co., is electrically heated with a 30 in. wide belt and 264 in. (762 and 6,700 mm) of heating length with five zones of control capable of 2150ºF (1180ºC).
