Hot Consolidation of Powders
January 11, 2004
Metal Powder Industries Federation (MPIF), Princeton, N.J., released Hot Consolidation of Powders & Particulates by Animesh Bose and William B. Eisen, which describes the principles and technology associated with hot consolidation of powders. The text focuses on the four main processes, currently in commercial production: hot pressing, hot isostatic pressing, powder extrusion and powder forging. It also identifies processes where applications are still in their infancy, never got past the development stage or are of historical interest.
