Hot Consolidation of Powders
February 9, 2004
Metal Powder Industries Federation (MPIF), Princeton, N.J., released Hot Consolidation of Powders & Particulates, a book on the principles and technology associated with the hot consolidation of powders. It focuses on the four main processes currently in commercial production: hot pressing, hot isostatic pressing (HIP), powder extrusion and powder forging. In addition, the authors look at several other processes where applications are still in their infancy, never got past the development stage or are of historical interest.
