Salem Tube, Inc. has installed a roller hearth furnace from LOI, Inc., a member of the LOI Group, in Canonsburg, PA, for bright annealing of stainless steel tubing. The system utilizes a 100% hydrogen atmosphere and does not require vacuum lock chambers at the charge and discharge ends. The rated capacity of the furnace is 1500 lbs./hr. processing stainless steel tubes with a diameter of 1/8" to 2" and an operating temperature up to 2300¯F (1260¯C).
