Investcorp, a global investment group, plans to acquire the Almatis Group, a manufacturer of high quality alumina products, from Rhone Capital and Ontario Teachers' Capital this month. Almatis divested its Adsorbents and Catalyst business unit to Engelhard Corp., allowing the company to focus and invest in its core alumina businesses. Almatis has about 800 employees in 18 locations worldwide.
