The Zircothal 2000 has been developed for research on materials up to 3722¯F (2050¯C). The chamber is made of zirconium brick and is 88 mm high x 87 mm wide x 115 mm deep with a capacity of 0.9 liters. The furnace has a front-loading design with a door aperture of 88 mm high x 87 mm wide. A 16-segment digital controller is fitted as standard. Heating takes place in two stages, with molybdenum disilicide elements being used to pre-heat the zircothal elements. An optical fiber device is used to control element temperature with accuracy of 0.1I%.
