Bricmont Inc. received a multimillion-dollar contract from Chaparral Steel to expand and upgrade its large section mill walking beam reheat furnace.
Bricmont Inc. (Canonsburg, Pa.; http://www.bricmont.com) received a multimillion-dollar contract from Chaparral Steel (Midlothian, Tex.) to expand and upgrade its large section mill walking beam reheat furnace. The contract covers a turnkey supply of engineering, material, equipment, construction labor and foundations. The expansion includes lengthening the furnace to double the heating capacity. The upgrade includes removing the existing combustion system and installing new to LOx burners along with a completely new waste gas system. The modified furnace and associated material handling will be controlled by Bricmont's Level I and Level II control and automation system.
