Praxair Inc., Danbury, Conn., has installed its CoJetª gas injection system at IPSCO Inc.Õs steel mill in Regina, Saskatchewan, Canada. IPSCO is the first mill in Canada licensed to use the Co-Jetª system, and brings the number of mills licensed to operate the technology to 38 in 12 countries. The system, currently licensed to steel makers for installation on new or existing electric arc furnaces (EAF), uses a computer-based process control system with wall-mounted nozzles that deliver a laser-like, supersonic jet of oxygen into the molten steel bath of an EAF.
