Corning Incorporated has placed an order with ITAM-Salem Furnaces, a unit of Techint Technologies in Pitt-sburgh, PA, for engineering and materials to modify a large assembly furnace. The furnace, originally built by Salem in the early '90s, is being modified to process a larger mirror blank.
