The ST-4000 HVOF system requires altering only three parameters (carrier gas pressure, feed rate of the powder and standoff distance) to optimize coating; all other settings are factory preset. The compact unit integrates the powder feeder, fuel pump and storage tank, and gun storage on or in the console. The system uses nonvolatile liquid fuel and features preset safety interlocks and pressure switches, which provide warnings and shutdown when operation is attempted outside specified limits. The system uses a Model 5250 ST small-target gun, which produces high-density, low-oxide coatings.
