Sousa Corp has installed a 10-bar high-pressure quench furnace with advanced computer control system for its commercial heat treat operation in West Hartford, Conn, from SECO/WARWICK Corp., Meadville, Pa. The model 10.VPT 4035/36 furnace features a 24 in. x 24 in. x 36 in. hot zone and 1,320-lb. capacity. The system heats by convection, providing faster and more uniform heating. The isothermal quench delivers controlled cooling with less distortion of parts. The round hot zone with curved graphite heating elements completes this practical, efficient furnace design.
