Model USN 58R portable ultrasonic flaw detector, which replaces the company's USN 50R and USN 52R, provides 1/4 VGA hi-brite EL display, 60 Hz update rate, and operation in cold environments at temperatures as low as -20C (-4F). Two rotary knobs allow users to easily make fast operating adjustments, and a 0.040 to 480 inch (1 mm to 12 m) range in steel combined with a 15 to 2,000 PRF (pulse repetition frequency) covers a wide range of applications without incurring acoustic wrap around. Four damping settings and eight frequency selections from 250 KHz to 25 MHz enable optimum matching to probe characteristics.
