Techint Technologies Passes Performance Tests on Two Walking Beam Furnaces at Aceralia
Techint Technologies, Genoa, Italy, successfully passed performance tests for two 400 t/h walking beam furnaces that were supplied to Aceralia (Arbed Group) in Aviles, Spain. The values measured during the official tests were impressive for the low figures relevant to NOx, specific consumption and skid-marks. Both furnaces were started up on a tight schedule (15 months for the first furnace and 18 months for the second furnace). The optimum performances were a confirmation of the latest technological solutions of Techint Technologies in reheating furnaces: low-low NOx burner development, new generation of level 2 control, dedicated skid-riders design and the sequential firing of burners in soaking and pre-soaking zones that allows notable temperature distribution in the slabs.
