No. 886 dual-chamber, electric bench furnace includes an upper and lowering chamber having operating temperatures to 2200 and 1250F (1205 and 680C, respectively). Workspace dimensions measure 12 in. wide x 24 in. deep x 12 in. high (305 x 610 x 305 mm) in the upper chamber and 12 in. x 20 in. x 12 in. (305 x 510 x 305 mm) in the lower chamber. Nickel-chrome wire heating coils supported by ceramic plates provide 40 kW power, 20 kW in each chamber. Heat-resistant alloy recirculating blowers, powered by 0.5-hp motors, provide horizontal front-to-rear airflow in each chamber. Each furnace has 6 in. (150 mm) thick walls made from 2 in. (50 mm) thick 2300F (1260C) ceramic fiber and 4 in. (100 mm) thick block insulation. Ceramic hearth plates support the workload in each chamber.
