RS-101 cylinders are ceramic fiber-reinforced structural alumina products having useful properties to 2300F (1260C). They retain strength and utility to levels exceeding maximum use temperatures of reinforced plastics and asbestos-cement replacements, such as calcium silicate. The cylinders undergo no outgassing on heating, are not brittle and can be cut and machined using standard tooling.
