BOC, headquartered in Murray Hill, N.J., commissioned a nitrogen pipeline running from its Braddock, Pa., production facility to the adjacent U.S. Steel Edgar Thomson steel plant. The pipeline, part of a $1.2 million expansion of the BOC Braddock plant, was completed earlier this year. The pipeline was constructed as part of an agreement to supply the Edgar Thomson production facility with an additional 100-to-200 tons-per-day of nitrogen gas. BOC also supplies the Edgar Thomson plant with gaseous oxygen and liquid argon, oxygen and nitrogen.
