Houghton International Heat Treating Division Forms Quenching Systems Department
The Heat Treating Department of Houghton International, Valley Forge, Pa., formed the Quenching Systems Department, a $1.3 million per year operation based in Coisse, France. The new department will design, manufacture and sell quench tanks in addition to its regular line of quenching oils, martempering oils, heat treatment salts and polymer quenchants. Heat treaters will now be able to purchase a comprehensive heat treating package that includes everything from quench tank design and modeling, to consulting and technical services. The quench tanks will be customized to specific applications for a variety of industries, including automotive, aerospace, aluminum extruding, forging, as well as commercial heat treating.
