U.S. Navy Awards $7.7 Million Tube Contract to Econco
Econco, Woodland, Calif., received a $7.7 million U.S. Navy contract to provide rebuilt power tubes for the AEGIS Weapon System. State-of-the-art Navy AEGIS ships employ power tubes to pulse powerful radars in the first fully integrated radar and missile defense system developed. In addition, the U.S. Navy recently presented ECONCO a second award for excellence for support to the AEGIS Weapon System. ECONCO was first honored for producing rebuilt tubes with 30 percent longer life than production tubes.
