The G2X noncontact, optical laser scanner is a portable device that makes rapid measurements of turbine blades, airfoils and other free-form aerospace and automobile products. The scanner uses a flying-spot laser triangulation measurement method, an optical scanning technology that enables it to detect and record every coordinate point along the surface of the part with nearly zero information loss or image distortion. The unit configures the scanned data and then renders a high-resolution digitized image of the part for analysis and comparison to the machined part's CAD file.
