Victor Equipment Co., St. Louis, Mo., completed a $4 million installation at its Denton, Tex., factory including nine Citizen Cincom (Citizen Numerically Controlled Machines) single spindle units and one multi-spindle Euroturn. The machines have up to 11 axis machining capabilities that produce multi-op components in one operation, thus minimizing the make/market cycle time. These capabilities will allow Victor to implement a 24-hour °'quick shipÓ program on over 700 of its most popular products. The installation of the equipment occurred during a 4-month period, with all machines fully operating in late March. They produce approximately 50% of all Victor machined components and operate 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
