General Dynamics Awarded $8.7M Ammunition Contract
The Department of the Army, Headquarters, Operations System Command, Rock Island, Ill., has awarded an $8.7 million contract to General Dynamics Ordnance and Tactical Systems, a business unit of General Dynamics. The contract calls for the production of 904,791 rounds of the 30 mm PGU-15/B target practice (TP) cartridge. The PGU-15/B TP cartridge is used by the U.S. Air Force in the GAU-8/A gun system on the A-10 combat aircraft. Work will be performed at the company's Marion, Ill., facility and is expected to be completed by August 2002.
