Quench Furnace Purchased in Mexico
Especialidades Termicas, S.A. de C.V. purchased its second 10-bar high-pressure quench furnace in 18 months, along with a tempering furnace with vacuum purging for its heat-treating operation in Mexico from Seco/Warwick Corp., Meadville, Pa. The furnace has a 24 in. x 24 in. x 36 in. hot zone and 1,320 lb load capacity. The unit features isothermal cooling and can cool an H13 tool steel block 16 in. x 16 in. x 16 in. from 1800F to 1000F at a cooling rate of 150F per minute. The tempering furnace is a hot wall, front-loading, retort-tempering furnace with vacuum purging and turbo cooling system. The furnaces are scheduled to be installed in February 2003.
