Industrial Heating Economic Indicators - Continued Increase in Quoting Activity
Industrial Heating magazine's monthly Economic Indicators showed mixed gains.
The July index numbers showed both RFQ's and Backlogs as continued to grow,
While Orders and General Health of the Economy saw declines. July index numbers, released yesterday (July 24, 2002), reflect the changes experienced by responding companies from May 2002 to June 2002.
Request for Proposal Index declined from 56.2 in June to 50.5 in July which
indicates continued growth but at a slower rate that in June.
Number of Orders Index dropped from 54.7 in June to 48.5 in July.
Size of Backlog Index rose from 50.7 in June to 51.2 in July.
General Health of the Thermal Processing Industry Index fell from 53.6 in June to 49.2 in July.
A number above 50 indicates increased activity. June is the first month that all four indicators were above 50. Roughly 375 industry suppliers are surveyed the first full
