New Radiant Material
May 11, 2004
Kanthal introduces its APMT tube material, developed using its advanced powder metallurgy technology for use in gas and electrically heated furnaces. The new material grade has improved hot strength at temperature to 1250°C (2280°F), making it suitable for use in demanding, horizontal radiant and protection tube applications where sagging is a problem and shape stability is needed. The tubes also have improved high-temperature corrosion resistance. It has the same FeCrAl base as Kanthal APM but with added molybdenum. Extruded APMT tubes are available in a size range from 26 to 198 mm (1 to ~7.75 in.) outside diameter.
