Model RXS-8 has four sealed and abrasion-protected spindles mounted around the perimeter of its 36 in. (915 mm) diameter rotary table, with a component-holding fixture atop each spindle. A precision cam indexer moves the component through separate chambers of the interior of the cabinet, where it is first blasted, then blown-off by adjustable air knives. Tight sealing hinged doors actuated by pneumatic cylinders prevent the escape of media particles or dust and reduce the operating noise level. Inside the blast chamber, the component rotates at controlled and adjustable speed as it is presented to a pre-set array of up to eight blast guns. The overall dimensions of the blast cabinet are 50 x 64 in. (127 x 163 cm).
