Techint Technologies, Pittsburgh, Pa., signed an agreement with Midrex Technologies and Kobe Steel that creates an alliance for the marketing and supply of FASTMET(r) and FASTMELT(r) projects worldwide. Under the agreement, Techint will supply the rotary hearth furnaces and melting/smelting equipment. The agreement also covers cooperation for the marketing of FASTEEL(tm) process, which combined the FASTMELT process with Techint's CONSTEEL(r) system for continuous scrap feeding and preheating.
