Centorr/Vacuum Ships Furnace to NASA Langley Research Center
May 16, 2002
Centorr/Vacuum Industries, Nashua, N.H., shipped a laboratory furnace to the NASA Langley Research Center facility in Virginia. It was designed for ultra-high vacuum operation for induction melting of special alloy materials. The system has provisions for the in-house addition of standard accessories for future expansion of the laboratory, such as interchangeable resistance heated hot zones, both graphite and refractory metals, designed to operate at specific temperatures for the requirements of NASA. The system may be used for heat treating, brazing, annealing, tempering and quenching.
