As part of a strategic business expansion, Solar Atmospheres, Souderton, Pa., acquired Magnetic Specialties Inc. (MSi), Trenton, N.J., including the MSi flagship product line, the FCS-2000 power supply. William R. Jones, CEO of Solar, will re-enter the vacuum furnace market through aftermarket products and services, replacements and upgrades in order to improve heat treaters' operating profits by enhancing vacuum furnace performance, productivity and energy efficiency. MSi will continue to be operated by Bruce Ruhf, president, as a division of SAMI, the newest member of the family of Solar companies.
