Vacuum Furnace Systems (VFS), Souderton, Pa., received an order from Stack Metallurgical Services for a new 6-bar internal quenching vacuum furnace designed to meet the requirements of the medical implant industry. Stack specified the furnace be designed with an all-metal hot zone to maintain a high vacuum level. Stack will use the furnace to heat treat medical implants such as knee and hip replacements.
