The Technologies Research Corp. (TRC), representing the Aluminum Metal Matrix Composites (AlMMC) Consortium, released a study document that identifies opportunities for future development of AlMMC technology for a broad range of industrial markets and applications. The roadmap is the result of a three-year collaborative research effort and was prepared by TRC, a subsidiary of the National Center for Manufacturing Sciences (NCMS). With the release of this roadmap and emphasis on continued development of low-cost processing methods, manufacturers will be able to evaluate AlMMCs as replacements for current materials.
