Industrial Heating magazine's monthly Economic Indicators for November showed substantial gains in RFQs, Orders and Backlogs, while the perception of the General Health of the Thermal Processing Industry index was unchanged. Both the RFQ index and the Backlog index posted their second consecutive month of gains (above 5.0). November index numbers, released today, reflect the changes experienced by responding companies from October 2002 to November 2002. Request for Proposal Index increased from 53.2 in October to 56.1 in November. Number of Orders index rose from 49.9 in October to 54.3 in November. Size of Backlog Index fell slightly from 52.4 in October to 51.0 in November. The General Health of the Thermal Processing Industry Index showed another modest gain from 48.2 in October to 49.7 in November. Roughly 375 industry suppliers are surveyed the first full week of each month.
