The ISO-QT quenching and deformation dilatometer is capable of heating rates up to 14,000F/sec (8000C/sec) and cooling rates up to 5400F/sec (3000C/sec). A servo hydraulic mechanical system makes it possible to achieve deformation rates from 0.0004 to 8 in./sec (0.01 to 200 mm/sec) in single or multiple hits. The entire unit is computer controlled using digital signal processors. Windows-based software is used for control, data acquisition, data analyzing and continuous cooling transformation (CCT) diagram development, and the system can be programmed to run almost any type of mathematical function for both thermal and mechanical control.
