Centorr/Vacuum Industries Ships Furnace to Honeywell
April 11, 2002
Centorr/Vacuum Industries, Nashua, N.H., designed and built a specialized vacuum, inert gas and hydrogen co-firing furnace for Honeywell Federal Manufacturing and Technologies, a components manufacturer for the U.S. Department of Energy, to produce metal/ceramic bonded parts. The system includes a dew point control system and water bubbler to provide moist gas, yielding safe operation while in hydrogen environment, and an RGA analyzer. The unit is equipped with an Edwards turbomolecular pump backed by an Edwards dry mechanical pump for oil-free operation. The system was shipped with a Hydrothrift(tm)brand water cooling system integrated into the furnace's control strategy.
