Techint Technologies will supply vacuum degassing units to the Steel Dynamics Inc. structural/rail mill in Colombia City, Ind.; Acciaieria di Rubiera in Italy; and to Acciaieria di Cividate al Piano.

Techint Technologies received three orders for vacuum degassing units. In the U.S., Techint will supply a 120-ton, twin-tank vacuum degasser at the Steel Dynamics Inc. structural/rail mill in Colombia City, Ind. The Techint Melt Shop Group in Milan will supply a new ladle furnace and a new lid type VD/VOR unit to Acciaieria di Rubiera in Italy. Techint also will supply a vacuum tank degasser capable of processing 50 metric ton heats of steel to Acciaieria di Cividate al Piano. The vacuum degassing technology is made available to Techint as a result of the acquisition of melt shop supplier EMCI in November 2001.
