The Xsensor electronic tensile force and pressure-indicating sensor allows real-time measurement of how force is disbursed between any two contacting or mating surfaces. It is suitable for applications where pressure lies between 0.01 psi to 12,000 psi (0.007 to 845 kg/cm2). The sensor is a Windows-based system that consists of an electronic sensor skin, which is a thin, flexible sheet that is densely packed with sensing points or pixels. These sensing points can be spaced as close as 1 mm (0.04 in.) apart and can collect data as rapidly as 500 times per second. It also includes an interface controller and software. System requirements are Windows 95/98/2000/XP operating systems, 16 MB free disk space and 64 MB RAM.
